Dr King qualified in 2007 as a psychiatrist and has completed her Masters in Early Childhood Intervention. She completed her Post-graduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Pain Management through UCT in 2019. At present, she is completing her Post-graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
She is a member of Pain SA and the South African Addiction Medicine Society and has a certificate in Management of Opioid Dependence. Dr King is also an active member of the ADHD special interest group and Reproductive mental health special interest groups of SASOP.
Her role is to provide pain neuroscience education.
She can assist you in managing your depression and anxiety which so frequently occur together with chronic pain.
If you are experiencing problems with substance dependency she can also help you in this regard.
Sleep disorders are often seen in people who live with chronic pain. She can assist in making a diagnosis of a Sleep disorder and help you to manage this.
